    Presentation:

This presentation will cover results of a 2023 Wind Impact Study conducted for the City of Omaha Public Works Department to analyze wind trends in the Omaha metro area. The study was designed to look at potential impacts from changes in wind speed on wind load for traffic signal infrastructure and provide guidance on the potential need for further engineering-specific load measurements. The presenters will discuss the data selected to conduct the study, the process used to compile and analyze the data, and highlight the results and recommendations for additional guidance on wind load impacts to traffic assets. Additional information will be shared on a related analysis of the recent severe storms that impacted the Omaha area on April 26 and associated wind speeds in the region.
