Husch Blackwell
Brent represents government entities, business owners, general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors in civil disputes and lien claims. He also represents political subdivisions by assisting in a variety of issues including regulatory compliance, contract negotiations, property acquisitions, and condemnation. He represented various entities and individuals in pre-litigation negotiations, mediation, throughout the litigation process and arbitration. In addition, before joining Husch Blackwell, he assisted with multiple cases before the Georgia Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Georgia that have resulted in the enforcement of certain limitation of liability clauses for design professionals performing services in the State of Georgia.
Brent currently works with the Papio-Missouri River NRD and other local government entities, and has overseen contracts for design, construction, land acquisition, and other legal matters related to engineering work.
Presentation:
Brent will cover various ethical requirements for professional engineers in the State of Nebraska, using the Nebraska Code of Practice as a framework. The presentation will also discuss case studies, lawsuits and hypotheticals to highlight how the ethical standards arise in engineering practice. While the presentation will touch on lawsuits involving engineers, the focus of the presentation is on ethical standards and how those may be different or similar to the applicable legal standard. And…… there is lunch too!
